Role of Radiographers

Radiographers may be trained in multiple imaging modalities; plain film, fluoroscopy, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, MRI and angiography. Radiographers deal with human subjects and with potentially dangerous ionizing radiations. They take radiographs of all parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. They prepare patients for radiologic examinations, position the patient so that the correct parts of the body can be radiographed, assure protection from unnecessary radiation, manipulate equipment, utilize scientific principles in application of technical factors, process film and utilize the latest imaging techniques and computer progrmas and to process, store and transmit images. The radiographer is responsible for maintaining the patient's welfare and confidentiality at all times.
