Retired Shining Star Program

At the end of 2007, the Shining Star Program that was used for employee recognition from January 2004 through December 2007, was retired and the Values in Action Program was implemented.

The Shining Star Employee Recognition Program was a staff recognition program designed to reward outstanding performance. Nominations could be made by managers, co-workers, physicians, volunteers, administrators, visitors, patients and family members of patients. Each month the Guest Relations Committee reviewed all Shining Star nominations and chose the employee that they felt exemplified the goals and mission of Wilkes Regional Medical Center. That employee was then awarded Employee of the Month. At the end of the year, the Employee of the Year was selected from this group of employees.
