We recently had a patient in CCU who was a DNAR and wanted to be discharged home to be with her family and pet. This was her last request. Her family members were in total agreement. Sherry worked diligently to get this patient discharged with hospice to fulfill her last wishes. She made many phone calls to hospital Administration, Hospice, Patient's family, and her physician, who was not very cooperative, to get this accomplished. Laurie Frachey-Dargin - Safety Caring, Commitment, Teamwork |
|
|
Christmas Eve a very ill patient was presented at registration to have x-rays as an outpatient. Registration had been told to ask patients to reschedule if it was not an emergency due to holiday staffing in x-ray. The patient was about to leave, Laurie overheard the conversation and took the patient to x-ray herself. The patient was admitted to the hospital after her results were received. If this patient had gone away she might have been very dissatisfied and may also have had a negative outcome. Laurie represented this facility in a positive manner and showed a very caring attitude. She often helps registration staff with issues such as these. She is a team player and always willing to help in any way when asked. |
